This project is to connect with indigenous networks worldwide, to share wisdom and experiences and to provide support for each others initiatives.
It involves web networking and attending international conferences to share Tipu Ake and Kaitakitanga principles.
We had people attend and present at www.sharingindigenouswisdom.org in Wisconsin USA 6-10 June 2004.(see report)
Outcomes expected:
- A support network in place for sharing of indigenous wisdom and practices.
- We will have international knowledge about protecting ndigenous rights that we can apply locally
- We will develop more effective protocols for protecting our intellectual property
- We will have visibilty and the ability to contribute to international indigenous thinking.
- We will trade website links to improve each other's visibility on the web.
- Our local wananga and retreats could become part of the indigenous wisdom learning network.
- We will have international networks that we can use to support and market our unque enterprises
- The world will act in more sustainability ways as a result of understanding indigenous practices.and values
- New Zealand will be seen to be making a unique contribution as a role model on the world scene.
